Privacy policy

Last updated 17 October 2026

Star Lore lets you turn your shared story into a constellation poster. This page explains, in plain language, what the site stores about you, why, who else handles it, and how to get it deleted. Questions: the site owner (a contact address has not been added yet).

What we store

  • Your account: your name, your email address, and your password. The password is kept only as a one-way scrambled form (a hash) that nobody, including us, can turn back into your password.
  • Your posters: everything you enter and design: the names on the poster, the stories and descriptions you write, your star layouts, and your style choices.
  • Your files: drawings the site makes for you and any photos you upload (for example a background photo or a sketch to trace).
  • Usage counts: how many AI requests your account has made recently, so the daily limits can be applied.
  • A sign-in cookie: a small cookie that keeps you signed in. It is needed for the site to work. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not sell your information.

How we use it

Only to run the site for you: to sign you in, save and show your posters, make your PDFs, and apply the usage limits. We do not use your stories for advertising.

AI features

When you press a button that asks for ideas, sketches or a drawing, the text that is needed for that request (the memory’s name, your story, your description, and an image of your star layout) is sent to Anthropic’s Claude AI models through Vercel’s AI Gateway, which writes back the result. Nothing is sent to the AI unless you press one of those buttons. The AI providers handle that text under their own terms and privacy policies.

Who else handles your data

  • Vercel runs the website, stores your files, and provides the AI Gateway.
  • Neon hosts the database that holds your account and posters.
  • Anthropic’s Claude models write the AI results, as described above.

These providers run their own servers, which may be in a different country from yours.

How long we keep it, and deleting it

We keep your information until you delete it. You can delete your account at any time from the Account page. That permanently removes your account, every poster, and every file you stored. Copies in our providers’ own backups are removed on their normal schedules.

Your choices

  • See or take your data: the Account page has a button that downloads your account details and all your posters.
  • Change your password on the same page.
  • Ask us anything or ask for a correction: contact the site owner (a contact address has not been added yet).

Children

Star Lore is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
